It is that time of the year where one or two hours can make a world of difference. Ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in Augusta and Waterville.

The Salvation Army biggest fundraiser is the Red Kettle campaign. Each year The Salvation army places red kettles at a number of local stores. People are then able to place donations into the red kettles when entering or leaving a store. That money is used to help The Salvation Army to not only meet the needs of families during the Christmas season but also all year long. Without this red kettle campaign it would be impossible for us to help so many. SO you being there to ring that bell and stand with the kettle makes this all possible.

If you, your organization, group, or even family could help, that would be such a gift to the central Maine community. The Capital Region Salvation Army is looking for people to brave the cold and ring the bell at a kettle stand this Christmas season. They are starting the Red Kettle campaign November 15 and going to Christmas Eve during the week from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm at a number of locations. If you would like to sign up and help The Salvation Army to help other this Christmas season please call and set up a time to ring the bell. Phone numbers are Augusta -623-3752 and Waterville  872-2172.

OH and if you are like me and never have cash, don’t worry.  You can whip out your credit or debit card and use the online Red Kettle. Handy huh? But still, take the time and ring a bell. Warm socks and those toe and mitten heaters and you will all set.
