A suspect is in custody following a chaotic scene in Lewiston, Maine on Thursday morning.

The Lewiston Sun Journal is reporting that a man from Tall Pines Drive was apprehended and arrested after allegedly chasing a woman he didn't know and firing at her with a handgun through Lewiston's Riverwalk.

The Sun Journal says that witnesses called police to report a man chasing a woman and shooting at her as she fled. Soon after police arrived to a remote section of the Riverwalk and spoke with witnesses, they were able to locate 22-year-old, Kody Ouellette, of Tall Pines Drive in Lewiston.

Ouellette had apparently been chasing the woman, who he didn't know personally, after she had reportedly been involved in an altercation with Ouellette's grandmother in regards to an aggressive dog.
