According to a press release from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, a Maine mother and son, as well as multiple others, have been taken into custody and charged with several drug crimes following the execution of a search warrant.

The release said that the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, along with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant earlier today (Wednesday, Sep 14th) on Jacksonville Road in the Maine town of East Machias.

Following their search, agents located 2.9 grams of fentanyl, 78 grams of crack cocaine and $2,455.00 in cash, believed to be drug proceed revenue. Officials say the street value of the combined drugs was around $15,850.00.

61-year-old, Tammy Davis and her son, 39-year-old Nicholas Ames, both from East Machias, were both arrested on drug trafficking charges. Additionally, two people from the Bronx, New York were also taken into custody. Those two were 33-year-old, Jermaine Henry and 27-year-old Rashan Howard.

The following are the names of those arrested and the charges they face by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency;

1. Tammy Davis (61) of East Machias, Maine. Charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl). This charge was aggravated due to a previous drug felony conviction.

2. Nicholas Ames (39) of East Machias, Maine. Charged with Class B Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl). (Note: Ames is the son of Davis)

3. Jermaine Henry (33) of the Bronx, New York. Charged with Class B Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl and Cocaine Base).

4. Rashan Howard (27) of the Bronx, New York. Charged with Class B Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl and Cocaine Base).

East Machias, Maine

As the result of a joint investigation with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, agents assigned to Maine Drug Enforcement’s Downeast Task Force have arrested a mother and son from East Machias, along with 2 men from the Bronx, New York and charged them all with drug trafficking offenses.

On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at approximately 6:30 am, MDEA agents, assisted by the Maine State Police Tactical Team, executed a search warrant on a residence located on Jacksonville Road in East Machias. This search warrant resulted from an investigation which included under cover buys from the home and is part of a series of investigations with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office targeting drug traffickers in that county.

Seized during the investigation was approximately 2.9g of suspected fentanyl, 78g of suspected crack cocaine, along with approximately $2,455.00 in suspected drug proceeds. Combined street value of the drugs seized was approximately $15,850.00

Arrested following the execution of the search warrant at the Jacksonville Road residence were:

1. Tammy Davis (61) of East Machias, Maine. Charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl). This charge was aggravated due to a previous drug felony conviction.

2. Nicholas Ames (39) of East Machias, Maine. Charged with Class B Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl). (Note: Ames is the son of Davis)

3. Jermaine Henry (33) of the Bronx, New York. Charged with Class B Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl and Cocaine Base).

4. Rashan Howard (27) of the Bronx, New York. Charged with Class B Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl and Cocaine Base).

Following their arrests, all were transported to the Washington County Jail for booking. The bail for both Jermaine Henry and Rashawn Howard was set at $50,000 cash while the bail amounts for both Tammy Davis and Nicholas Ames are to be set by the court.

Those arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
