Ahhh, winters in Maine. You can either hate them and spend countless hours trying to find a second home in Florida, or you can wrap your arms around it and fully embrace its chilly essence. We prefer to do the latter.

If you're looking to get outside and really take advantage of the upcoming Maine winter without having to spend an arm and a leg, while still getting a good ol' fashioned adrenaline rush, then you need to check out the Camden Snow Bowl.

Aside from being one of Maine's premier coastal ski resorts, Camden Snow Bowl also offers other options for some wintery family fun. If you're really up for an adventure, check out the Jack Williams Toboggan Chute.

According to their website, "The toboggan chute is 400-feet-long and rises 70-feet in elevation, allowing many toboggans to reach speeds up to 40 miles per hour. The run-out sends sleds onto frozen Hosmer pond. If there is clear ice on the pond, some sleds will go the entire way across – about a quarter mile."

The chute is open on Saturdays and Sundays and is $10 per person hour an hour of fun. Children must be 42" tall to ride the chute.
