Let me ask you a question, what goes up and never comes down? That's right, your age. The real tragedy about getting older is less cake, more candles, and my mom calling me to talk to about mammograms. It's all downhill from here. Or so I thought.

Well, I am officially 37 years old. I literally blinked from a little girl running naked down the street until the neighbors had to call my mom and say "Pam, little Elizabeth is running naked through the frog pond again." And now, I am just naked in my bathroom, wondering where the years all went and where all the stretch marks came from. Am I right ladies?

To be honest, each year, I am very happy to grow older because I get to live in a world where I am loved, but this year was a bit different. I got really sick. I was diagnosed with bronchitis the day before my birthday by this hot doctor which was ironic.

He gave me antibiotics, Mucinex, and a butt load of vitamins. I was feeling pretty low but determined to still make my day, great.

I was unable to do my job at the Morning Show because I had to wait 24 hours for my antibiotics to do their magic.

So I started off the day with yoga and when I was in my downward dog position my boogers were dealing with gravity, along with my boobs and I started coughing and dripping. Yoga didn't work real well.

So I decided to meditate. When I was meditating, I could hear my whistle breath. You know when your chest is filled with phlegm and whistles and cracks when you breath? Well, that's what was happening so, meditation didn't work well either.

At that point, I got hungry so I melted into the kitchen for a snack. I was supposed to be intermittent fasting but it was my birthday which means, I ate ice cream for breakfast and gave zero, you-know-what's.

So my birthday so far, consisted of two failed attempts to be healthier and ice cream. Have I told you I am allergic to dairy? At that point, I face planted on the couch and slept.

When I woke up, later in the afternoon, everything changed because of my son. He came up to me with a big purple balloon and said, "Happy Birthday Mama, look what I got you." In his hands were mardi gras beads and a huge bag of gifts.

We opened presents, laughed, cuddled, played, sang, had more ice cream, and my wife and child sang me to sleep.

I am so lucky for being able to turn 37 years old and I will count my blessing every day for the rest of my life. Being a Mother is the best gift I have ever received. It is natural and rewarding, frightening, and transformational all the time.

I am so very lucky and to all of the other ladies in their mid to late 30s, questioning as to where all the time went, I want to tell you this:

The time went into us in the shape of wisdom, experience, beauty, and bravery.

And as a mother, this is all you need on your birthday, pure and endless love.
