Portland’s new hockey team is coming together. Recently, the team, which will play out of the city’s Cross Insurance Arena opened up their website for name suggestions. Well, it looks like there are five finalists.

According to WCSH, hockey will be returning to Portland. They are reporting that a former Portland Pirates player and GM, Brad Church and former owner, Godfrey Wood are planning to bring an ECHL team to Portland.

Junior hockey is coming back to the Twin Cities. The Lewiston Maineiacs folded after the 2010-11 season and now the The Colisee in Lewiston will have a new team, starting next season.
The University of Maine announced that alumnus Tom Savage and his wife Sally have made a $1 million dollar donation to jump start a hockey endowment drive.
