It should come as no surprise that a storm that just impacted the gulf coast is headed up the Northeast corridor and will affect Maine in the next day or two. As typically happens, these hurricanes that hit down south lose power and intensity, thus also losing their hurricane status. This doesn't mean however that they still can't bring rain up to New England with them. And that's exactly what's going to happen with the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

According to WGME, rain from Ida will move into Central Maine late Wednesday night with most of seeing steady rainfall by 11 PM. Rain will continue, heavy at times, through the overnight and into Thursday morning. Because of the intensity of some of the expected downpours, localized flash flooding is a distinct possibility.

By Thursday mid-morning, most of the precipitation has moved out of the area and partly sunny skies should slowly begin to develop for much of Central Maine. Looking ahead to the weekend we should see a partly sunny Friday, a sunny Saturday and clouds on Sunday.

Maine Bars & Restaurants W/ Patios & Decks

Who doesn't love enjoying a beer and a burger on a patio (or deck) on a warm summer night? Clearly, as we are still dealing with the pandemic, you may want to reach out to each of these establishments to make sure they have not made any temporary COVID-related changes to their business.

Stay In A Treehouse In The Middle Of Annabessacook Lake

If you're looking for a unique way to REALLY get away from it all, you can rent this off the grid treehouse. What could be even cooler than staying in a treehouse? How about staying in a treehouse on a semi-private island in the middle of a lake? While the rates probably vary depending on the time of year, it rents for about $250 per night.
