The Augusta Police Department made a drug bust late last night, March 4.

According to an official press release, a suspicious vehicle was spotted parked near the entrance to the Augusta Nature Center Trails on Cony St., located less than 500 feet from the property of Cony High School.

The Augusta P.D. and the State Police, upon investigating, discovered "...35 grams of cocaine base powder packaged for individual sale, digital scale, packaging material, narcotics paraphernalia, and cash."

Dylan Hendsbee, 26, of West Gardiner has been charged with aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs, Class A (School Zone), violating conditions of Release – Class E, and criminal forfeiture of property.

Steve Madsen, 23, of West Gardiner, was charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W Drugs, Class A (School Zone.)
