Over the weekend a $2 million Powerball ticket was sold at the Canaan Superette. The winner matched five numbers and turned the $1 million prize into $2 by playing the Power Play option. The lucky numbers were 2,5,31,39,41 with a Powerball of 29.

The Maine State Lottery talked with store owner Tom Ward.

We don’t know who the winner is...All of us here are talking about it and wondering who it might be. It would be nice if it was one of our regulars, but I guess we’ll have to wait to find out!

Ward has owned Canaan Superette for the past seven years and will receive $20,000 for selling the winning ticket. The store also had a $30,000 'Instant Ticket' winner last week.
