In year's past, if Patriot's Day landed on the day taxes were due, Mainer's would get an extra day to file. That's not the case this year.

Last year, there was even a bigger delay. Remember April 15, 2012, just happened to fall on a Sunday and Emancipation Day in Washington D.C. was celebrated on April 16, 2012. So, the tax filing deadline was pushed all of the way to Tuesday April 17, 2012.

What's different this year? Well, according to Forbes:

...in 2011, the government decided to reroute returns to other facilities rather than give taxpayers the extra day. Now, no individual federal income tax returns are processed in Maine or Massachusetts, so there aren’t any extensions for taxpayers.

There's no way around it this year. Your filing deadline for individual income tax returns is Monday, April 15, 2013.
