See Why A Castle For Sale In Maine Just Broke The Internet
Normally, when you think of countries that have castles, you think of Europe. Britain, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, etc. If that's where your mind goes, you are probably going to be kind of surprised to learn that New England has quite a few castles.
Of course, castles in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, etc, are a lot newer than the European castles. Ours are typically between a few decades old and 150 years old.
Recently, a "castle" for sale in Maine became the most viewed house for sale on the internet.
According to Home Digest, the most viewed home on the internet right now is a "castle" for sale in Turner.
According to Realtor.com, the property is located at 7 Strawberry Ave in Turner. Built in 1990, the wood and stone constructions is more like a tower. Each of the four floors only has one or two rooms on it. The ground floor has the kitchen, dining area, and a bathroom. The second floor has the living room, bathroom, and laundry. The top two floors have the bedrooms. A series of really cool spiral staircases connect the floors.
Take a look inside...
The Castle In Turner
The only problem I have with the castle is that the castle-like features end at the door. The inside is pretty mundane. Other than the fact that it is more vertical than horizontal, the place looks like any other home on the inside.
The current list price is $325,000. If you put down $80,000 at close, your mortgage payment would be about $1,200 per month, That amount covers the mortgage, insurance, and taxes.
