Even if you have never seen the show, there is a good chance that you have at least heard of "Undercover Boss".  That's the reality show where the upper management of well known companies get a chance to find out what it is like to be a minor employee for the company.

For example, the CEO of a fast food chain gets to find out what it is like to work the fry station or work the drive-thru.

In most cases, the owner (CEO, president, whatever) learn an important lesson about what life is like for their employees.  They have some kind of eye-opening epiphany.

Recently, a Maine man was shocked to find that he was going to be on the show.

According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, Windham's Kyrin Hobdy was under the impression he was going to be on a British reality show called "Starting Over".  He had been told that the footage they shot of him and a trainee would not even be going on BBC or ITV.  He was under the impression that the show was going straight to Youtube.

It turns out his "trainee" was US Cellular CEO Laurent “LT” Therivel.

A week after the show was shot, they flew Hobdy to Oklahoma City for the big reveal.  When he was re-introduced to his trainee, Hobdy did not understand why the guy looked so familiar.  Then, it dawned om him that he had seen the man in photos dozens of times.

CEO Laurent Therivel had joined the company in 2020 and, as a result, did not have a chance to meet many of the employees.  Producers of the show say that made him a great candidate for "Undercover Boss".

Hobdy  has been with the company for well over a decade.  He started with  US Cellular as a network field engineer in 2008.  Currently, he works as a maintenance technician.  Each year, he visits the brand's 600+ New England stores.

The US Cellular episode of the show will air on Friday.
