Okay, show of hands.. how many of you have been waiting for this freaking announcement? I know I have!

For weeks upon weeks I have been slumbering away through the long and chilly months dreaming of finally being able to frolic through the tool-filled aisles of the new Augusta, Maine Harbor Freight store, and it finally looks like that will soon shift from a dream to a reality.

For about a year now there has been heavy speculation that one of, if not both of, two super-popular chain stores was going to be coming to Augusta. Those two stores are Hobby Lobby and Harbor Freight. Well, finally, one of them is actually confirmed!

According to an email press release from Lisa Hartley, Marketing Media Planner at Harbor Freight Tools,

"Harbor Freight Tools will officially open its new store in Augusta, ME on Saturday, November 26. Averaging 15,000-square-feet, the store will stock a full selection of tools and accessories in categories including automotive, air and power tools, storage, outdoor power equipment, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment, hand tools and more."

According to the Kennebec Journal, construction has already started at Augusta's Turnpike Mall on a brand new Harbor Freight Store. It will join other businesses in the same plaza such as Texas Roadhouse, The Christmas Tree Shop, Bed Bath & Beyond among others.

The Kennebec Journal says that the new store will employ about 25-30 people. Additionally, construction of the new store is being done by local construction companies and contractors. No word on if they're construction the location with tools provided by Harbor Freight.

The KJ says that Harbor Freight, a California-based company, will have positions open in Augusta for sales associates, logistic supervisors, senior associates and seasonal positions, too.

Trey Feiler, senior vice president, Real Estate and Construction for Harbor Freight Tools, told the Kennebec Journal,

“We’ve been looking to open another location in Augusta for a number of years, so that we can provide the tools and equipment at tremendous values to the community. In addition to finding a great location, we were attracted by the availability of great associates in the Augusta area, and we look forward to having them join the Harbor Freight team.”
