MLB Season Could Start Around July 4th
According to WCSH 6, major league baseball team owners have reportedly approved a plan that would start the season on July 4th weekend.
Teams would play about 82 games in spectator-less stadiums. Spring training would kick off in early June.
Post season play would expand from ten teams to fourteen and the wildcard slots would double.
If watching a game on TV or the internet is not good enough for you... You are one of those people who needs to experience the game - the sights, the sounds, the smells... We've got some good news. Even though the season will start off with no fans in the stands, the hope is to introduce them as the season progresses. Initially, a small percentage of seats would be sold, but that number would increase as time goes on.
Most-likely, the July 14th All-Star Game would not take place this season.
Additionally, there probably would be no minor league play this year.
Whether you are a sports fan or not, I am sure you're happy about this sign that life is gradually returning to normal.
