Maine Police Officer Risks Spray to Save a Skunk Caught in a Cup

York, Maine police officer David McKinnon doesn’t stink!

Officer McKinnon braved one of the most horrendous substances known to man - skunk spray - to save one of the animals from a discarded cup.

The video, shared by WCSH 6, shows the officer gingerly removing the cup from the head of a distressed skunk, then quickly backing away from the animal once it was free.

As a result of this fine police work, yet another skunk is free to terrorize the residents of southern Maine. (Kidding!)

Great work, officer. Is there a bravery commendation that comes with getting up close and personal with a skunk? I wouldn’t have dared!
