Maine High School Closes Due to Lack of Teachers
Sumner Memorial High School located in Sullivan, ME was forced to close yesterday because 12 teachers called out sick.
The high school, located on Route 1 between Ellsworth and Cherryfield, scrambled to find coverage but was only able to get two substitute teachers to commit to filling in which was not enough.
According to the RSU 24 superintendent, the flu has been going around the school but did not say specifically if the flu was the reason so many teachers are sick, as reported by WMTW.
