According to News Center Maine, Edna Libby Elementary School in Standish will be closed tomorrow over concerns about a local flu outbreak.

MSAD 6 Superintendent Paul Penna made the decision to close the school on Monday (February 3rd) after consulting with the Maine CDC over the numbers of students who were dealing with influenza.

Despite the school's custodial staff  disinfecting the school on a daily basis, the number of students with the flu continued to rise.

Allowing the students Monday off is intended to get them past the three day incubation period.

Penna hopes to re-open the school on Tuesday.
