Historic Augusta Area Golf Course Being Auctioned In July
Have you ever had a desire to own your own golf course? This could be your opportunity.
According to the KJ, Augusta's historic Western View Golf Course is set to be auctioned-off on July 15th.
In 2018, Alan and Amy Orcutt purchased the Central Maine golf course, which first opened in 1932. They made many improvements to the property, including updates to the pub / event center.
Due to time constraints, the Orcutts have decided to sell the property. For about 25 years, Alan Orcutt has worked in the building materials business. With what is happening in the building / construction industry right now, it should not come as much of a surprise that he'd be busy.
Earlier this year, a deal to sell the property fell through. That is when they decided to reach out to southern Maine's Keenan Auctions.
According to the Keenan Auction website, the 9 hole course spans just over 77 acres. The golf course is fully irrigated. It is located on Bolton Hill Road, just off Route 202.
The main building includes a check-in area and a golf simulator. There is also a 108 seat pub and event center. The pub area features vaulted ceiling and a stone fireplace. There is also a sizable deck that can be used to seasonal outdoor dining. Much of the equipment has been recently updated.
