According to WMTW, the theft of an SUV on Saturday afternoon led to some scary moments for the parents of a three year old boy.

At about 5:20 PM, Portland police received a call about an SUV stolen from Cumberland Avenue.

The caller reported that he had left his sleeping brother in the vehicle while he went into a nearby restaurant to pick up a food order.

A few minutes after the call went out to police, they found the vehicle abandoned on Marginal Way.  The child was still asleep in his car seat.

Police have not located the person or people who allegedly took the vehicle.
