According to WGME, a Maine school bus carrying 31 children was involved in a Monday morning crash in Naples.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department reported that the crash happened at about 8:30 AM on Monday near Lake Region Convenience on Roosevelt Trail.

A Subaru Outback was waiting to turn into the convenience store's parking lot when it was hit from behind by a school bus.

The Subaru Outback was pushed into the parking lot of Lake Region Convenience, where it struck a rack of propane tanks.  It continued to travel and went through the outside wall of the store.  During the crash, the Outback also hit an unoccupied vehicle.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash.  Police continue to investigate, but say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

One of the workplaces that has seen issues finding staff during the pandemic has been schools and school bus companies.  In several cases, some of Maine's more rural schools have had to temporarily close due to a lack of school bus drivers.

If you have commercial driving experience and / or a willingness to help kids get to school, reach out to your local school district or local school bus companies.  There is a good chance they could be in need of drivers.

We just want to say thank you for all you do to help us inform and entertain Central Maine and beyond.  If you see something we should be talking about, let us know.  Just send a message to us through our app or on Facebook,.
