Augusta in Top 25 Best Capital Cities

Augusta, Maine …aka the ‘A to the U’(check out the video) is in the Top 25 Best Capital Cities from Smart Assets.

Augusta is looking good, and fun stuff is happening in Downtown. We have the Kennebec River, a university, shopping, restaurants, and an airport (so we can watch the planes come and go…oh is that just me?)

Smart Assets took a look at the 50 capitals in housing, restaurants, property, and violent crime rates, and they look at the employment rates. That did the unemployment numbers in May of this year so that you know these numbers are recent. Here is what the found:

Topping the list was Madison, Wisconsin.

Montpelier, Vermont; Concord, New Hampshire; Boston, Massachusetts were numbers eight, nine, and ten on the list. So Northern New England is well represented.

Last on the list was Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

BUT what about Augusta?

Augusta came in number 23!
