As Fatalities Climb For 2022, Another Maine Motorcyclist Has Been Killed in a Crash
It has been a rough year for motorcycle enthusiasts in Maine as the number of fatalities has taken a sharp upward turn in 2022. Already in 2022, Maine is on track to pass the number of motorcycle fatalities logged in all of 2021.
Sadly, another motorcycle crash has led to another death in Maine. WGME 13 is reporting that a crash between a motorcycle and car happened on Wednesday morning in the Maine city of Scarborough.
WGME says that a vehicle was turning from the roadway to pull into the Nonesuch River Golf Club when it collided with an oncoming motorcycle on route 114.
WGME is reporting that the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
As of Thursday morning, WGME 13 was reporting that the Scarborough crash was still under investigation and that the names of those involved would only be released after next of kin had been notified.
At this time, it is currently unknown if there were any contributing factors to the crash such as speed or alcohol as details are still limited.
This is a developing story and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available to us.
