The American Automobile Association said roughly 43 million Americans will be traveling over this Memorial Day weekend and wants to offer some advice to avoid some of the biggest travel nightmares.

According to AAA, rule #1...don't leave Thursday evening, noting that 4:45-6:00 PM will be the worst time to travel.

AAA also feels since economically things have been good, and many have a lot of disposable income in their pockets, people have decided to spend that extra dollars on travel.

AAA said they expected 1.5 million more people to travel this Memorial Day weekend compared to last year, that makes it the second-highest travel volume on record since AAA has been keeping records. In other words...it's gonna be busy out there!
