U-Haul Starting Nicotine-Free Hiring Policy

If you smoke or vape nicotine, don't come looking for a job at U-Haul.

Starting Feb 1st they will reject new job applicants who use nicotine according to a statement on their website. This won't effect employees already hired and working for U-haul.

This will take effect in 21 states, Maine is not one of those states however, the policy will be enacted in Virginia, Arizona, Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Washington.

U-Haul says "the policy is a responsible step in fostering a culture of wellness at U-Haul, with the goal of helping our Team Members on their health journey.”
