According to the KJ, thee long-time Farrington Elementary School teachers are retiring at the end of this year.

Fifth grade teacher Elizabeth Chadwick has been teaching for 47 years, Marcia Hughes has taught fourth grade for 48 years, and Sharon Beaver has been teaching music for 46 years (many split between Farrington and Hussey).

According to their co-workers, their loss of nearly 150 years of combine teaching experience will leave a hole in the school district.

In addition to being co-workers, the three are also good friends.  They spend a lot of time together outside school and even rent a Pemaquid cottage for part of the summer.

The three say they would recommend a career in teaching, but remind people to do it for the kids - not the money.
