Thursday is DOGust 1st and a Time to Celebrate Shelter Dogs

DOGust…August….get it…

According to National Today the North Shore Animal League America in New York dreamed this up in 2008 as the universal birthday for shelter dogs.  And it is catching on…more and more shelters are starting to adopt the concept.

I LOVE IT!

What a cute idea and great way to focus on dogs (as well as cats and other animals) in need of a new fur-ever home.

Support your local animal shelter please.  They are working to find homes for animals who need a home, efforts to reduce the overall population with spay/neuter programs and just working hard to be there for those animals in need.

ShadowDog is a rescue dog.  I do know he was born in October but no exact date. That is why I made his birthday Oct 31….Halloween!
