It's now official!   Paul LePage has submitted his nomination to run as the Republican candidate for Maine's gubernatorial race this fall. This would make LePage the first person in Maine state history to serve a 3rd nonconsecutive term as the state's governor.

According to a report by centralmaine.com LePage indicated his intent to reinstitute work requirements for receivers of welfare. He also made a bold statement today that he would force healthcare facilities and hospitals to rehire and workers that were displaced due to Covid-19 vaccine mandates.

LePage also thinks that Maine should provide free community college to all students, instead of just the three years proposed by Governor Janet Mills.

LePage was quick to dismiss the projected surplus as simply a by product of the Federal funds that came into the state due to the pandemic.

Mills has not addressed any comment by the former Governor and directed all questions to a campaign spokesperson.
