Cascades Inc. is closing Cascades Auburn Fiber due to poor sales. The plant, which employs 45 people, manufactures de-inked pulp.
Production will end on July 8, and the plant will close its doors July 15.
Auburn Police are looking are looking for 15-year old Lily Swearingen of Auburn. She was reported missing on Feb 27.
She is described at 5’4” and 90 pounds. She has shoulder-length black hair with hazel eyes. No other information is available at this time.
Scary scene at the Auburn Mall this (Feb. 19) afternoon. Right around 1:30 pm, a worker who was shoveling snow from the roof, fell through a skylight. He dropped to the cement floor at the Center Court of the mall.
Auburn Police say this afternoon (Jan. 11) around 1pm, a man called saying he was suicidal. Police were able to get the man, at a home near Chickadee Drive, to exit peacefully.
The very first 'Emerge Film Festival' will be Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14. The inaugural festival will bring a diverse selection of Maine-made and international films to the twin cities. Categories will include documentary, short and feature length films.
