It's been a favorite annual event here in Central Maine for both businesses and citizens alike. The Sukeforth Family Festival of Trees brings joy and smiles to thousands of Mainers every Christmas season. However because of the ongoing pandemic plaguing the world, the family has decided to forego this year's celebration in the name of safety.

A post from their Facebook page reads,

Due to the continued uncertainty with COVID-19, the Sukeforth family has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Sukeforth Family Festival of Trees. We look forward to seeing each of you at our next event in November 2021 and we wish each of you good health as you surround yourself with your loved ones. The Sukeforth Family.

While we certainly understand how tough the decision must have been for them, we also understand how difficult it is for people in the community to continually see major events like this getting cancelled due to COVID. And, as tough as it will be, we will most likely see several more annual events get cancelled this year as experts are predicting a fairly brutal flu season coupled with the ongoing pandemic.

We will continue to stay up to date on all the happenings with community events and keep our listeners informed as to their status as we push forward into the fall season.
