
Seven Injured in Chairlift Accident at Sugarloaf
Seven people were injured after a chairlift at Sugarloaf Mountain malfunctioned. It was the King Pine chairlift that was the issue late Saturday (March 21) morning.
Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington says that 3 people are being treated for noncritical injures.
Sugarloaf officials say that the lift stopped and began rolling backwards around 11:30 Saturday morning. It rolled around a distance of 9 chairs backwards, causing people to fall from it.
Approximately 230 people were evacuated from the lift by the Sugarloaf Ski Patrol.
