According to News Center Maine, RSU 2 in Richmond will not be providing bus services for students through November 16th. The School district made the announcement via their website.

Affected schools include Richmond Middle/High School and the Marcia Buker Elementary School.

The cancellation of buses was put in place as after a third case of the coronavirus hit the town of Richmond.  However it is not known if these new cases have anything to do with the cancellation of bus services.

The message did say that any students who were not in quarantine were welcome to attend in-person classes, as long as they had another way to get to school.

In the announcement, it was explained that a bus would be provided to take the AM pre-K students from school to home, but parents will need to bring their morning pre-K students to school.  For the afternoon session, the opposite is the case.  The kids could hop a ride to school, but would need their parents or guardians to pick them up at the end of the day.

Additionally, the local police department has offered to transport some children to school.

Those who are not able to get to school will still be able to learn remotely.
