With a resounding vote of 3-0, the Maine Public Utilities Commission has approved the Transmission Line Project. A 145 mile long transmission line will cross Western Maine supplying Canadian Hydropower to Massachusetts.

Gov. Janet Mills has come out in support of the plan saying it has environmental and economic benefits. While many people are against the project citing the fact that it will cut through a 50-mile segment of Maine's wilderness while existing corridors will have to be widened according to WABI.
