Most Mainers are waking up Friday morning to very windy and rainy conditions. These conditions are expected to cause sporadic power outages across the state during the day on Friday.

One year after the wind storm that knocked out power to almost half a million people, questions are being asked about what how we can stop that from happening in the future.

There is some good news and some bad news in this story. First, the good news. New England's power grid operator says wholesale electricity prices dropped by nearly 23 % regionally last year. 23%! Electricity prices are now at their lowest levels since 2003.
