Unless you're not from around here, then you already know Charlie's Motor Mall and the entire Shuman Family have been incredible supporters of the Kennebec Valley Humane Society and all the work they do for the fur babies in our area.

They have been advocating, supporting and donating to the organization for literal decades- and now they've made the largest donation in KVHS history.

According to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society Facebook Page, this donation is just the first installment of a much larger donation from Charlie's Motor Mall that will total a staggering $2 million.

The money will be used to construct a brand new and state of the art animal shelter on a sprawling 75 acres off the Leighton Road in Augusta.

And in a beautiful nod to a wonderful local family of philanthropists, the new building will be called the Nancy Shuman Animal Shelter.

Pictured below is a computer-generated image of what the new shelter, once completed, will look like.
