Maine’s Decided ‘Most Boring Town’ Has It’s Own Rap Video
OK look, Maine is a great place to live, work, raise a family, or just relax. We have big bustling cities, quaint little towns and townships, miles of beaches and rocky coastlines, the most amazing National Parks around and acres of forests. We have the best local beers and the freshest seafood. The crime rate is lower than most states, and you can really experience the four seasons of the year.
Is it perfect? No, being the highest taxed state in the Nation kinda sucks but who knows...that could change, someday, maybe.
So when I saw a list of the most boring towns in every state from BestLifeOnline.com I had to see what great Maine town they had picked. I thought it would be some town way up in "the county" where there are more cows that people or something like that.
They chose the largest town in Piscataquis County, the town that is home to the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival, the town that started out as two towns separated by the Piscataquis River. BestLifeOnline.com chose Dover-Foxcroft for Maine's most boring town. Their list was derived from drawing on data from the U.S. Census and American Community Survey, BestLifeOnline.com examined which places in each state have the highest median ages, the fewest number of things to do, and the lowest population density.
That's quite a fall from grace for Dover-Foxcroft from just 5 years ago when In 2014, the American Pizzeria Appreciation Society named Dover-Foxcroft "Pizza Town USA 2014." According to APAS, Dover-Foxcroft has more pizza restaurants per citizen than any other municipality in the United States. I love pizza!
But that's not all, I took a quick look on Wikipedia and discovered Dover-Foxcroft is home to many notable people like the first woman to graduate from a New England college Mary Mitchell Birchall. Or how about the bass player and vocalist for the rock band moe, Rob Derhak. Hannah Hanson Kinney was from Dover-Foxcroft, she's an alleged serial killer! Lisa Rowe Fraustino, is an American children's author, she is also from Dover-Foxcroft.
Oh, and does any other "Most Boring Town" have it's own rap video? I think not!
