The problem with immediately identifying the coronavirus is that it has a two week incubation period. That means if you contract the virus, you may not have ANY symptoms for two weeks, all the while, the infected could be unknowingly spreading the virus to others.

The coronavirus 2019-nCoV, is a virus that was first detected in Wuhan, China and reportedly, according to the CDC, had some link to a large seafood and animal market, though that is still speculation.

Some people that have been infected have reported little to no symptoms while others have had fever, cough, shortness of breath and in several cases, have died. While the confirmed cases in the US have remained steady in the single digits, two people in New Hampshire, who recently traveled to Wuhan, China, are being monitored by state health officials. The pair, According WMTW, have come down with respiratory symptoms similar to those produced by coronavirus. They are currently isolated and waiting for test results to come back. If confirmed, the two would make the 5th and 6th confirmed cases in the US. There are also about 100 others across the country currently being tested.

The CDC says to help prevent spread you should take precautionary measures similar to those for flu prevention, including frequent hand washing with soap and water, staying away from sick people, staying home from work or school if you are sick, covering your mouth and nose when you have to sneeze or cough, and cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and objects that could be contaminated with germs.
