How About Some Good News? A Possible Warmer-Than-Average Spring Ahead
Looks like through June, we could be in for above average for temperatures.
WGME-13's meteorologist Dustin Bonk shared some good news from the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center.
Almost two weeks into spring, it has been mild, and it looks like we are going to stay above average through June. You can thank the lack of snow cover for some of that.
Not only is the trend to be a warmer spring but also the rest of April should be above normal temperatures, too.
The Climate Prediction Center is used to doing long-term seasonal forecasts. They are actually saying that the warmer weather could last into the fall and even early winter.
It's a trend. We just ended a warmer than average winter with 73% of days with above-average temperatures at the Portland Jetport.
Maine gets the bonus warm spring, but the warmer-than-average temps for the next couple of seasons will include most of the country.
And yes, the CPC does warn, that doesn't mean you can't have cold snaps in there too.
