Two-way Downtown Augusta Traffic May Have to Wait until 2019

The Augusta City Council recently voted to make traffic two way again on Water Street.  Centralmaine.com posted about the big reason for the possible hold up: cold weather!

The city council voted on this in mid-July, it still needs DOT approval and THEN the work would need to go out to bid.  It is not a huge project but it requires more than just repainting a new lines and putting up a few signs.

So, by the time all of that is done it going to be getting cold and construction may have to wait until spring.
