UPDATE: Michael J. Booth, a 14-year-old freshman at Gardiner Area High School was last seen by his parents late Saturday (Oct. 18) night. He has now been found safe. According to the Gardiner Police Department, h He was found Tuesday (Oct. 21) morning at a home in Gardiner. Police found him while following up on a tip.

Leroy Smith III of Gardiner made his first court appearance (May 8) today. He's accused of killing his father, 56-year-old Leroy Smith II at their Gardiner home on Cannard Street. His father’s remains were found Monday (May 5) in numerous trash bags left in a wooded area off Lincoln Street in Richmond, about eight miles from their apartment.

When Sargent Isaiah "Ike" Peppard submitted the Gardiner Police for the honor of presenting the colors at Fenway Park, he certainly hoped but never expected to be chosen. But then he got the call from the Red Sox organization and he let Chief James Toman know that on Friday, September 7th, Gardiner would be doing the honors before the Sox/Jays game.
