A Fire broke out Friday evening (April 3) at 15 State Street, Augusta, near the Cumberland Farms. It was reported just prior to 7:30 pm. Fire departments from Augusta, Winthrop, Gardiner and Togus were on the scene at the multi-unit apartment.
Last week 30 Gardiner residents were displaced due to a fire in a 28-unit apartment on Highland Avenue. Efforts are now underway by the community to help the tenants who lived in the senior housing complex.

An early morning fire at an apartment house in Augusta has injured seven people. The fire started around 2 a.m. and Augusta Fire Chief Roger Audette told WCSH, that a 'portion of the four-story apartment building later collapsed.
