WGME is reporting that crews from area towns are on the scene this morning (June 29) of a structure fire in Richmond.

A Fire broke out Friday evening (April 3) at 15 State Street, Augusta, near the Cumberland Farms. It was reported just prior to 7:30 pm. Fire departments from Augusta, Winthrop, Gardiner and Togus were on the scene at the multi-unit apartment.

Last week 30 Gardiner residents were displaced due to a fire in a 28-unit apartment on Highland Avenue. Efforts are now underway by the community to help the tenants who lived in the senior housing complex.

There was a fire in Winthrop (Jan. 10) this morning just after 8 am. The Rt. 100 apartment blaze is believed to have started when a basement heater caught fire.

An early morning fire at an apartment house in Augusta has injured seven people. The fire started around 2 a.m. and Augusta Fire Chief Roger Audette told WCSH, that a 'portion of the four-story apartment building later collapsed.

UPDATE: 1:55 pm- Centralmaine.com is reporting that four children were safely evacuated from a fire at a day care in Sidney today.

Firefighters from Winthrop and 3 area communities, Monmouth, Manchester and Augusta, battled an early morning (May 31) blaze in town. Winthrop Fire Chief Dan Brooks told WCSH that 4 people are very lucky to have escaped.

Firefighters from four departments battled an Augusta blaze at 323 Riverside Drive in Augusta around 6:45 a.m. (May 28) this morning. The fire destroyed the home and the family lost everything. Two family pets that were unable to be saved. The cause of the fire is likely accidental.

An Augusta fire has caused $100,000 of damage. The blaze occurred at the Darling’s Dodge dealership on Western Avenue early in this (May 4) morning. The building suffered significant damage. One firefighter did have a minor injury, however they did not need any assistance.
