Starting this summer, low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines will start flying to Denver, Orlando, and Raleigh-Durham from Portland International Jetport. Flights will begin in July and end in November, whether or not they continue there in 2019 will depend on customer interest, according to Tyri Squyres, the vice president of marketing for the airline.

According to CentralMaine.com they are going to price the tickets at 29 dollars one way through this Saturday. Frontier offers low fares, but has add-on fees for other items like, carry on bags, checked bags and seat selection. Checking a bag is usually $25-$35 dollars while carry on's are $30-$35.

The reason for the new flights is, the Portland Jetport has been experiencing record setting attendance. The number of passengers hit an all time high in 2017 due to the number of tourists and airlines expanded options for locals. It was reported more than 1.8 million people came through Portland International Jetport last year, 75,000 more than 2016.
