Last week there were fighter jet flyovers all over the country to show appreciation for the bravery of healthcare workers giving all they've got and more, to care for the sick day after day during the pandemic.

The display is a strong symbolism of support for our healthcare heroes courage and determination.

Watch this great news piece from WCVB 5 in Boston. This is coverage of the hospital flyovers in the area saluting frontline heroes on National Nurses Day.

It is really a moving thing to see these planes in formation roaring high above in their honor.

It's pretty difficult to not let a sight like this affect us emotionally. It is a precious moment that strengthens our resolve as we continue to battle Covid-19.

According to an announcement on the Maine National Guard Facebook page, our healthcare heroes will get a very similar special show of appreciation on Tuesday May 12.

“The entire Maine National Guard is honored to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the healthcare workers and first responders who are working on the front lines to combat COVID-19. We are also deeply grateful for those essential personnel diligently working to keep our shelves stocked and families supplied,” said Maj. Gen. Douglas Farnham, Maine’s adjutant general."

There will be many flyovers throughout the day including these locations tomorrow morning in Central, Western and Southern Maine:

Farmington – 10:30
Androscoggin Mill / Jay – 10:33
Central Maine Medical Center - CMMC – 10:40
