In a plea agreement Wednesday that will keep him from serving life in prison, 16 year old Lukas Mironovas pleaded guilty to the strangling, stabbing and subsequent killing of his 47 year old mother, Kimberly Mironovas.

According to WMTW, Lukas and his friends has planned on crushing up prescription medications, but when they realized they didn't fully dissolve in wine, decided to strangle and stab her. The reports indicate that Lukas showed no emotion in the court room as he entered his plea.

Lukas' lawyer says today's plea deal will mean the teen will serve 25 to 35 years in prison and avoid a possible life sentence.

Two other teens are also charged in the case; one will tried as an adult, and the other has been sentenced to juvenile detention.
