The Associated Press reports that exiting Governor Paul LePage had some strong words for Governor Elect Janet Mills.

LePage has said that Mills "better be fiscally responsible when it comes to expanding Medicaid."  If not, he has promised to come back from Florida and run for Governor again in 2022.

LePage had previously said he was getting out of politics completely and was looking forward to a teaching job in Florida when he leaves office in January.

According to the article, LePage made the statement on WVOM-FM saying he’s leaving the state in good fiscal shape but added he’d return to Maine to fix things if Mills lets spending get out of control. It’s still unclear if LePage was serious or not.
