You’re Looking At it All Wrong: A Fresh Perspective How to Love Maine Winters
Younger Krissy would have thought she was out of her mind if shenever said winter in Maine is better than the summer season.
Older, wiser Krissy knows that staying at home most nights and working on your own inner peace to be able to face the world as positively as you can is the real flex.

Sebago Lake
This is so hard to do in the summertime when you're faced with activities like boating on Sebago Lake or having some cocktails at Portland Lobster Company right on the water. Don't get me wrong, I love to do both of those things with my group of friends, but when you're being pressured by them to join you, it's incredible hard to say no.
So what do you do? You go. I'd go too, life is short. But in that same breath, life is also too short to ignore your feelings inside and go through life partying on the outside. From personal experience, if you're not careful that's exactly what this cycle could become in the summertime.

Wintertime is dull, dreary, and too cold to want to be outside. Perspective. Truthfully, it creates the perfect environment to not feel bad when you choose to stay home and do your face mask while reading your book. This is the definition of self-care and it's something very important to me in my 30's.
Use the time you get during winter to do the hard work on yourself. I treat winter almost as an excuse to be a home and gym body so by the time summer hits I feel good. Perspective is truly huge in all aspects of life, but when we're complaining about winter blues it's not impossible to turn them into winter wins. Whoa, should I paten that? Winter wins? LOL.
However, don't get me wrong you'll see me on the slopes at Sugarloaf a few times before winter ends!
