Home heating oil prices are on the way up, just in time for tank-filling season here in New England.

According to the Bangor Daily News in Maine, the average cost of a gallon of home heating fuel in the Pine Tree State was hovering at just over $3.02 on Wednesday, up almost a dime from this time last week.

The state agency that regulates energy also reported that the price of propane, another utility gas used to heat homes, was also up significantly. A gallon of propane was up to $2.86, and a gallon of kerosene was up to $3.45 this week.

With temps plunging across the region and another Nor'easter on the way this weekend, it might be time to fill up if you haven't already!
