Deadly Crash This Morning In Winthrop [UPDATED]

According to WMTW-TV there was a deadly accident on Route 202 in Winthrop this morning.The fatal accident has closed a section of Route 202 in Winthrop. Traffic is being detoured from Upper Main Street to Metcalf Road to Stanley Road back to Route 202.

According to Winthrop Police Chief Joe Young, there was one fatality in the accident. Another person was taken to CMMC in Lewiston, there is no word on that person's injuries.

Young said the accident occurred when one vehicle crossed the center line going westbound on Route 202, hitting an eastbound vehicle.
