If you think we've gotten a lot of snow in central and southern Maine and New Hampshire these last couple of days, you should see the conditions at Mount Washington. They saw their first snow of the season well before us, and they'll likely be covered in it for the rest of the season. All of the snow and ice at the top of the big rock pile make it incredibly difficult to get around. But the state just picked up a beast of a machine to make life a little easier for the staff that are there 24/7 throughout the winter.

According to a Facebook post, the Mount Washington State Park staff recently received an early Christmas present - a brand new Snowcat! The 2019 Pisten Bully 400 Trail Series is the new navigational king of the mountain, replacing the 2002 Bombardier BR 275, which they got a good 15 years out of.

I'm sure driving around in the snow in one of these is a lot of fun. In fact, I'm a little jealous. It sure would be nice to have one of these to get to work on a day like this! However, with a price tag of around $300,000, I probably won't be picking one up anytime soon. But congrats to the Mount Washington staff for their newest addition to the team!
