Bill to Loosen Rules on Guns in Cars on School Property Rejected
Timing is everything. Timing was not on the side of this bill from Rep. John Martin of Eagle Lake.
In fact, Martin even asked for it to rejected because of the recent school shooting in Florida
The bill in the Maine legislature would have loosen restrictions on parents having guns in their cars on school grounds has failed to get a single affirmative vote.
WABI reports Martin said his intent was to allow hunters to drop off their children at school and pick them up without having to remove guns from their cars, the guns be unloaded and locked up and the owner would have been required to stay inside the vehicle.
