Back in October, the Big Apple on Stone Street in Augusta was robbed.  A suspect has been arrested in the crime.

According to the KJ, Gardiner Police arrested 29 year old Kiara . Lewis during a recent traffic stop at about 4:15 PM on Monday.

During the October 25th, 2021, robbery the alleged robber threatened the clerk and demanded money.  While she never displayed a weapon, she claimed she had a knife.  The robber got away with about $200 cash and a pack of Newport Red cigarettes.  The alleged robber then left the store and headed for the back of the building.

The investigation was aided by an anonymous tipster who claimed he used to date Lewis.

Her bails was set at $5,000 and she was taken to Kennebec County Correctional Facility in Augusta.  She had been charged with one count of Class B count of robbery. That crime carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison

There is no word on when she is due in court.

That particular convenience store has been robbed several times.  It was previously robbed in January and February of 2019.
